He performed the bluegrass standards "Blackberry Blossom" and "Little Sadie" - apparently both judge and crowd favorites. Many great contestants competed in several categories. "Hello Again. Its Been So Long. Too Long, Too Long..." - November 28, 2007

Wow! Its been a while...

So much can happen in life that we have no control over. Staggering
sometimes to think about. Make sure you hold on to yourselves, your
love, your lovers, your sanity, truth, and honesty. Its a crazy
world out there and it will eat you alive if you're not paying
attention.

We certainly hope that everyone has had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday
and start to the winter holiday season. Nate has ventured deeper
into his home of Maryland's Eastern Shore. He's been working on new
material, burning the wood stove, hangin with his doggie, and trying
to keep it all together.

If you're around the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, come check him
out at his winter residency in Salisbury. Flavors of Italy, a tasty
pizza, pasta, and beer spot owned by one of Nate's old buddies, or
"the Flave" for short, has begun hosting various live musicers. Nate
will be performing on Fridays from here on out for a little while. He
can also be seen performing with the gospel group, One Voice. They
are a rootsy vocal group led by Nate's mother, Patty, and they will
be doing some Christmas-minded shows throughout December.

There are many more shows in the works. Maybe a western run later in
the season, some New England dates in a bit. Nate has even dusted off
the old electric guitars and started jamming with some great rock and
rollers... We'll keep you posted.

XM Radio and the Galax Video Release - November 24, 2006

We know this is the first News entry in a while. Our apologies. There's been soooooo much musical lovliness since the last news posting. Here two of the latest announcements...

We are pleased to announce that Nate has started being featured
periodically on XM channel 43 (XMU). Keep them requests coming! Its
SUPER easy. Just email Billy Zero, Program Director, at
to request your favorite tune. They featured
"Song for Lauren" off of the "Old Soul" release. A record appears at
<http://www.radiounsigned.com/index02.html>. Check it out!

Video of the now legendary Galax performance this past year is now
available online. Visit <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJcyIKDWeZE>
for "Lonesome Fiddle Blues" performed by an all-star group of pickers
including Robert Mabe, Jamie Griggs, Clay Jones from Mountian Heart,
Nate Leath from Old School Freight Train, Ryan Cavanaugh of the Bill
Evans' Soulgrass, Darren Shoemaker, Nate Clendenen, and more! The
performance lasted roughly 10 minutes and only ended upon the power
being cut by the organizers. If you've ever been to something like
this, you know what it means to have the sound cut... in certain
circles this is a curse... in ours its a blessing. Video and audio
by Rex McGee... enjoy!

Stay tuned...
