Nate Clendenen is a singer/songwriter/performer born in Philadelphia, PA and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. After calling the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Sydney, Australia, and Moab, Utah his home at times over the last decade, Nate has returned to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay. And of course you'll still find him... somewhere out on the endless highway.

Imgaine Toots Hibbert and Peter Rowan in a smoky jam session. Think Ramblin' Jack Elliot if he had grown up at the beach. Clendenen's influences are widely eclectic - from Reggae and world music to Appalachian folk - from 60s psychedelia to alternative country.

Nate seeks to put words to the random moments in life that one will always remember – to record his thoughts as a soundtrack of his life – to find those tiny things that often go unnoticed. This is the stuff of great art – the melody of meaningful music.

“Nate has a vision and it is a good one! He has truly followed in the tradition of great songwriters. His use of melody and rhythm are a breath of fresh air in this prepackaged pop culture that we live in. He has true feeling and connection with his songs and it is a vibe that the audience picks up on from the first note and keeps them captivated until the last. As a performer, Nate has a confident, yet inviting presence that makes every one in the room (whether it’s 5 or 5000) feel a connection to what he is doing.” - Dan Shores, Producer dBs Sound, Sono Luminous

"Van Morrison in the Appalachians... Newgrass colliding with the singer/songwriter genre" - Mike Breen, Cincinatti City Beat

“The moon shines off the Bay like it would die tomorrow. If I never knew you it would.” – Nate Clendenen, "Moon Song"

“There’s war on the television no water in the wells. There are angels everywhere. They are lying on the ground just where they fell…” - Nate Clendenen, "Standing Here Listening"

This sound is completely original. Although its hard to draw ties to others that have come before, Nate’s music has been likened to Van Morrison, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, Dave Matthews, and Ryan Adams. Music is art – it helps you through – it puts you down – it shows you truth. Clendenen, who holds over a decade of songwriting to his credit, has toured across the United States and Australia, released several recording projects, and continues to wander the world with his guitar.
