Nate Clendenen is a singer/songwriter/performer born in Philadelphia, PA and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. After calling the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Sydney, Australia, and Moab, Utah his home at times over the last decade, Nate has returned to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay's lower Eastern Shore. And of course you'll still find him... somewhere out on the endless highway.

Imgaine Toots Hibbert and Peter Rowan in a smoky jam session. Think Ramblin' Jack Elliot if he had grown up at the beach. Clendenen's influences are widely eclectic from Reggae and world music to Appalachian folk - from 60s psychedelia to alternative country.

He seeks to put words to the random moments in life that one will always remember - to record his thoughts as a soundtrack of his life - to find those tiny things that often go unnoticed. This is the stuff of great art - the melody of meaningful music.

"Van Morrison in the Appalachians... Newgrass colliding with the singer/songwriter genre" - Mike Breen, Cincinatti City Beat

Currently Nate is performing in several different musical scenarios. His brand new band, the Electric Co is already causing quite a buzz in their locale of Ocean City, MD. Comprised of John Sybert and Sonny Martin from the legendary East Coast band, G-13, and young guitar phenom, Joey Saas, their energy is infectious. Straight ahead Roots, Rock, and Reggae gets you every time!

As a bluegrass performer, Nate has been known to appear with many spectacular pickers. Banjo virtuoso, Robert Mabe. Robert hails from the hills of North Carolina and has toured and recorded with David Via and Larry Keel. In addition, he's performed with Johnny Cash, Leftover Salmon and the String Cheese Incident to name a few. Champion fiddler/guitarist/banjo picker John Garris brings his immense talents to the stage whenever he can squeeze it in. John Cowan, Tony Rice, Bela Fleck, Steep Canyon Rangers, and Old School Freight Train can all say the same.

Finally, you can catch Nate as a solo performer, as well. In a bar, in a club, theater, you name it... Nate has played in them all.

Most importantly, no matter what ensemble cast Nate hits the stage with, everyone in the audience is prime for great music... completely original - contemporary yet traditional - progressive yet classic.

"Nate has a vision and it is a good one! He has truly followed in the tradition of great songwriters. His use of melody and rhythm are a breath of fresh air in this prepackaged pop culture that we live in. He has true feeling and connection with his songs and it is a vibe that the audience picks up on from the first note and keeps them captivated until the last. As a performer, Nate has a confident, yet inviting presence that makes every one in the room (whether it's 5 or 5000) feel a connection to what he is doing." - Daniel Shores, Producer dBs Sound, Sono Luminous

"The moon shines off the Bay like it would die tomorrow. If I never knew you it would." - Nate Clendenen, Moon Song

"There's war on the television no water in the wells. There are angels everywhere They are lying on the ground just where they fell. There are tears in the back yard Tears on my bed All those damn tears I cried for you because Your cursed love for me is dead" - Nate Clendenen, Standing Here Listening

Although its hard to draw ties to others that have come before, Nate's music has been likened to Van Morrison, Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull, Dave Matthews, and Ryan Adams. Music is art it shows you truth. Clendenen, who holds almost two decades of songwriting to his credit, has toured across the United States and Australia, released several recording projects, and continues to wander the world with his guitar.
